With the wide selection of Fireworks strokes and fills, you can create all kinds of compelling graphics for your Web site. But what about wrapping a bevel edge around your buttons for a raised look? Or a soft glow emanating from a picture? Or a subtle drop shadow to add depth to text?
These and many other effects are easy to apply in Fireworks. Plus, you can apply effects to an object with only one visit to the Effect panel. You can edit or remove Live Effects as easily as you apply them.
The best thing about Fireworks effects is that they are live, which means they redraw when you edit the objects they are applied to. As if that isn't enough, in Fireworks 3 you can use Xtras filters, such as Gaussian Blur and Sharpen, as Live Effects. Many Photoshop plug-ins now have all the flexibility of Live Effects. For more information, see Using Photoshop plug-ins as Live Effects.
